The Longest Business Style in Chinese Characters of a "Kopitiam" in S1BU.

I think this is the longest Chinese characters used in a signboard by a kopitiam selling "halal" food by a Chinese guy in S1Bu. If can find another in S1BU, I'll will take off this One. Let's count how many Chinese characters? Wow, it's 10 in Chinese characters.

One of the specialities of this Kopitiam is the Beef Noodle Soup and the "Choon Seng" kopi "O" . Dunno how's the taste? Because I don't take or eat Beef nor I'm Kopi "O" addict.

The Grandiest Festival of all times- 26th NCCF & 8th BCF 2009 in S1BU.

The 26th NATIONAL CHINESE CULTURAL FESTIVAL & 8th BORNEO CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2009

The 26th National Chinese Cultural Festival (NCCF)2009 kicked started the Celebrations in Sibu and followed by the annual the 8th Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF) 2009. This is a very rare occasion that two (2) big scale festival celebrations coincided with each other and for this year, this is the number 1 event in S1BU.

The 26th NCCF started on 3th of July till the 5th of July, 2009 and 8th BCF on 6th of July till the Grand Finale on 11th of July, 2009. The NCCF 2009 was organised by Sibu United Chinese Association under the Chairperson of Datuk Lau Cheng Kiong and while this year, the 8th BCF was organised by Sibu Municipal Council under the chairperson of the CEO Mr. Hii Chang Kee with the cooperation of all the local associations of different dialects and races.

This 26th NCCF was celebrated in a very grand scale and further lighten up especially with the Closing Ceremony graced by Our Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Abdul Razak (Our 1Malaysia) and Our Chief Minister Perhin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud (Our 1Sarawak) and the federal & State Ministers.

The number of the both of the celebrations (26th NCCF & 8th BCF) is 268 and isn't that this number is auspicious ? 268 is better than 168 (in Cantonese-Lucky all the way). Well, I would say ....it's a double Lucky all the way.

WOW, I was fascinated by the display of the biggest "kwan Tau" of the float during the Parade which I think it worth mentioning in this blog- the biggest "Kwan Tau". I asked Mr. Chua Hiong Kee , the Teo Chew Clan Leader also the Cultural Section Chairperson of the Sibu United Chinese Association why they don't use other symbol like a long spear instead ?He told me that's a spear. Ummh..... I don't know about other dialect but I sure that the Teo Chews do follow closely some of traditional belief passed down from their forefathers.

About 114 groups from various associations and Clubs took part in the 26th NCCF Parade on the Opening Night of the Festival.
