The Biggest Town Square in Sarawak.

Sibu Town Square is the largest town square in Sarawak (Malaysia ?)and if not mistaken, it's biggest in Malaysia. The total areas of whole Square is roughly about 20 acres or a little more if fully completed. As compared to two (2) of the world famous Squares -The Red Square in Central Moscow and The Tianamen Square, central Beijing in the acreages, Surprisingly, Sibu Town Square is bigger than the Red Square (18 acres .....source: Britianica concise Encyclopedia) ) but only 1/5 the size of Tianamen Square (100 acres.....source: wikipedia). A Sibu Boleh!

Every year Sibu Municipal Council organized the Borneo Cultural Festival in this Town Square during month of July and the town square had served famous people like VVIP Our King, Singer like Datuk Siti Norhaliza, Chief Minister, federal & State Ministers.

Sibu Ripley's believe it or not....they said that the late Altantuya was here with the Mongolian troupe during one of the previous Borneo Cultural Festival as the translator (?).Really would like to get a copy of the pix to prove her presence here at the town Square.

This town square is quite well patronized and a place for recreation & functions. Thank God for this Town Square. Oh, yes, this year the National Chinese Cultural Festival will be held next month in this Town Square and the Borneo Cultural Festival will follow right after this National festival. All are most welcome.
